Unstoppable Domains, a company building blockchain domain names, today announced that Litewallet, Litecoin Foundation’s top mobile wallet, will integrate .crypto blockchain domains. Starting today, Litewallet users can transact using human-readable addresses supported by .crypto domains [ex: brad.crypto] purchased through Unstoppable Domains. Through the partnership, the Litecoin Foundation intends to create a better user experience for sending and receiving cryptocurrency payments.

Litecoin Foundation has been a pioneer for cross-chain interoperability, stemming from its involvement in the first-ever atomic swap between the Bitcoin and Decred networks. More recently, Litecoin and Cardano have teased plans to conduct a velvet fork bridging their two chains. With .crypto domains’ compatibility across 35+ wallets and 80 supported cryptocurrencies, Litecoin Foundation and Unstoppable Domains anticipate the collaboration will be a critical next step toward a unified and frictionless cryptocurrency ecosystem.

“Interoperability with .crypto domains is going to be the big driver of great user experiences,” said David Schwartz, Project Director at the Litecoin Foundation. “Litecoin Foundation is in constant pursuit of new methods to expand the crypto ecosystem. This partnership with Unstoppable Domains will help build bridges across wallets to allow users to easily hold and transfer assets.”

Brad Kam, co-founder of Unstoppable Domains, added, “We are seeing a growing number of use cases for blockchain domains, as the blockchain industry continues to make crypto payments easier and more accessible. We are excited to work with Litecoin Foundation to help streamline cross-wallet payments, and bolster the wider crypto landscape.”

The integration with the Litecoin Foundation coincides with Unstoppable Domains’ unveiling of their App Store feature. Within the App Store, Unstoppable Domains users can browse applications across a number of categories that are accessible with their domains. Additionally, developers will have the ability to promote their applications to domain owners — cementing Unstoppable Domains as an all-in-one hub for blockchain applications. Litewallet will be among the first applications featured within the Unstoppable Domains App Store.

The rollout of the App Store comes amid a surge in cryptocurrency fervor, and aims to further bridge the gap between disparate blockchain ecosystems while also simplifying user experience for new and existing users.

To date, Unstoppable Domains has registered nearly 500,000 blockchain domain names.
